Punti Informativi Turistici (PIT)

Throughout Rome there are Punti Informativi Turistici, or PIT, which can be really helpful to the first time tourist. There are 13 such locations located in and around Rome.

PIT are useful for:

  • finding a hotel room
  • finding places to shop or shopping suggestions (you’re looking for a particular item and don’t know what kind of shop or where you might find it)
  • purchasing a Roma Pass
  • purchasing other tourist cards and trips
  • picking up maps, brochures and pamphlets on things happening in and around Rome

The locations are opened every day of the year. The hours vary from location to location so don’t assume that all of the locations have the same hours. Locations that are housed in museums keep the same hours as the ticket office, and most ticket offices in Italy close an hour before the museum closes. Also, most museums in Italy are not open on Mondays.

Below are the locations of the following tourist points:

  1. Termini Station
    Via G. Giolitti, 34

  1. Musei Capitolini
  2. Museo di Roma
  3. Villa Borghese
  4. Musei di Villa Torlonia
